How often should my gutters be cleaned?

Twice a year for most Nashville homes — spring and late autumn. If you have pines or hardwoods overhanging the roof, three times is safer. Gutter guards stretch that interval a long way.

What happens if I skip gutter cleaning?

Water backs up over the edge and runs down your fascia and siding. Left long enough it rots trim, soaks the foundation, and finds its way into the basement or crawlspace. A cleaning costs far less than the repair.

Do you clean downspouts too?

Yes — a clear gutter feeding a blocked downspout still overflows. We flush every downspout and confirm water is discharging properly away from the house before we pack up.

Do I need to be home during the service?

No. Most of our work happens outside, so you're welcome to be out. We'll text when we arrive, send photos when we're done, and you can settle up afterwards.

Does cleaning include an inspection?

Yes. While we clean, we check for loose hangers, failing seams, and pitch problems — so small issues get caught before they become repairs.

Do leaf guards really stop the cleaning?

For the twice-a-year scoop-out, yes. Micro-mesh keeps leaves, pine needles and shingle grit out of the trough, so what would have become a clog washes straight off the top instead. Our gutters and gutter guards carry a lifetime warranty.

How do I know if I need a repair or a whole new roof?

Age, and how widespread the problem is. One failed flashing detail on an otherwise sound roof is a repair. Shingles losing granules across whole slopes, or a second leak somewhere unrelated, usually means the roof is at the end of its life. We will show you photos of what we actually found and tell you which one you are looking at.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most homes are a one to two day job — tear-off and dry-in on the first day, finish the next. Larger or steeper roofs, or ones where we find decking to replace, can run longer. We will give you the expected schedule before we start rather than after.

Do you tear off the old shingles or go over them?

We tear off. Laying a second layer over the old one is quicker and cheaper, but it hides rotten decking, makes flashing details worse and shortens the life of the new shingles. Taking it back to the deck is the only way to see and fix what is underneath.

Can you help with a storm damage insurance claim?

Yes. We inspect, photograph and measure the damage and write it up the way adjusters expect to see it — including hail bruising and creased shingles that are easy to miss from the ground. We can meet your adjuster on site so you are not arguing the technical detail on your own.

What will my yard look like when you leave?

Like we were not there. Debris goes straight into the trailer rather than onto your lawn, and we run a magnet over the driveway and beds at the end of every day to pick up nails. If you find one afterwards, call us and we will come back out.

Can you do the roof and the gutters together?

That is the ideal way to do it, and it is the reason we do both. New gutters go on after the roof and drip edge, so nothing has to come back off, and you are dealing with one crew and one schedule instead of coordinating two trades.
